Dogecoin (DOGE) is a peer-to-peer, open-source cryptocurrency created by Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer in 2013. It's based on the iconic 'Doge' meme, featuring a Shiba Inu – a Japanese breed of dog. Unlike Bitcoin, there is no limit on the number of Dogecoin that can be mined. As you know, we always have our clients’ best interest at heart. Due to extreme demand from our community to add one specific asset to our platform, we’re back with yet another new cryptocurrency on Nexo. And in case you haven’t guessed it already – it’s Dogecoin! You can now buy, earn and borrow against your DOGE on our platform. That day, the cryptocurrency news blog Coindesk published an interview with Dogecoin founder Jackson Palmer, who left the team in April 2015. In the interview, Palmer expressed concerns that Dogecoin's success could be a troubling sign for the market:

Keeping with the media, we cannot underestimate the potential effect of scams, theft and hacks on how the public perceives digital currencies. Fortunately, there are ways to protect oneself from fraudulent practices. The simplest is to avoid recently launched or unknown cryptos and use trusted platforms that implement a high level of security for the buying and managing of cryptocurrencies. If you want to buy a particular cryptocurrency but don’t know how to do it, CoinCodex is a great resource to help you out. Find the cryptocurrency you’re looking for on CoinCodex and click the \"Exchanges\" tab. There, you will be able to find a list of all the exchanges where the selected cryptocurrency is traded. Once you find the exchange that suits you best, you can register an account and buy the cryptocurrency there. You can also follow cryptocurrency prices on CoinCodex to spot potential buying opportunities.
